The Chester County History Center prides itself on being a hub of insight, resourcefulness, and education. While our core exhibits and historical collections function as a lens into the area’s enthralling history, our endeavors to enrich our community’s knowledge, understanding, and critical thinking don’t stop there. We offer public and private museum tours, outdoor walking tours in our historic Chester County community, and virtual and in-person historic lectures, workshops, and programs.
Are you part of a group and want a special interest tour experience? Contact us for information about how we can customize a tour to suit your needs.
Our History Center offers a wide range of lectures and special interest programs that highlight area history through our premier artifact, manuscript, and photograph collections. Our Speakers Bureau draws upon the expertise of the History Center’s professional staff on a wide variety of topics, including everything from 19th-century ceramics, to Arctic exploration, to how to research the history of your Chester County property. Our lectures aren’t exclusive to happenings in our own backyard, either. We share the regional, national, and global impact of our local leaders, explorers, and inventors, and events around the world that influenced Chester Countians at home.
Our public museum tours and lectures set the stage for an immersive educational—and entertaining—experience all around, but did you know that we can customize a tour for your group? Whether getting the “inside scoop” on the exhibitions and collections inside of our building or strolling around Chester County’s storied villages and towns, Chester County History Center offers fun learning experiences catered to your group’s particular interests.
Whether you want to learn more about the Underground Railroad, women’s history, actors and entertainers, or sweet shops we have a tour for your field trip, family outing, team building event, scout group, and more.
Our team is proud to develop and coordinate private tours and lectures that bring the community closer together, educate groups and the general public, as well as contribute to the historical fabric that makes Chester County a truly special place. From engaging discussion and instructional, hands-on activities to outdoor walking tours in Chester County that give a whole new meaning to sites that community residents and visitors from surrounding areas — including Delaware and Montgomery counties as well as Greater Philadelphia — may have never known or considered the significance of, our programs are designed with preservation and empowerment in mind.
