HONORING

MR. RAY BENTLEY | MR. JIM MOORE

FRENCH & PICKERING CREEKS CONSERVATION TRUST

This history-making story remembers Warwick Furnace and the key people who once made it roar with the fires of industry, and shaped the very tools of revolution. The landscape surrounding Warwick Furnace has witnessed centuries of change, yet its beauty and historical significance endure. French & Pickering Creeks Conservation Trust’s tireless efforts to conserve this hallowed ground has ensured that we, and future generations, can walk the same paths as those who fought for freedom.

As it sometimes happens, history lies buried, waiting to be rediscovered. Ray Bentley and Jim Moore, with their passion for history, love for Chester County, and their unwavering curiosity, led an excavation that brought to light four Revolutionary War cannons hidden for centuries. Their dedication reminds us that the past is never truly lost, and that new discoveries can always enrich our understanding of history.

The History Maker Awards celebrates these connected stories of lived, preserved, and unearthed history.

We honor Mr. Ray Bentley, Mr. Jim Moore, and the French & Pickering Creeks Conservation Trust, for their contributions to our shared heritage. They remind us that history is not just a collection of dates and facts, but alive and filled with human experience.

Donations in honor of Award Recipients or in lieu of attending are greatly appreciated.
