A conversation with artist Dane E. Tilghman about his work, life, and experiences.
Dane E. Tilghman, a West Chester native, born in 1957, is one of America’s most sought-after African American visual artists. Dane has exhibited his work throughout the United States at art festivals, galleries, trade shows, convention centers, and sports arenas, where he has received numerous awards. His work has been exhibited at the African American Museum in Philadelphia, and also in solo exhibitions at Howard University, Widener University, West Chester University, University of Pennsylvania, Penn State, and the Butler Institute of Fine Art in Youngstown, Ohio. One of his well-known baseball images has been incorporated into the Baseball Hall of Fame Museum in Cooperstown, N.Y.
