Biography:

At a meeting held at the White Horse Inn on May 26th 1853 in Willistown Township a Company was formed for the purpose of the ”detection of Horse thieves and recovery of stolen property”. Charles Bishop was appointed Chairman and Abraham H. Hall the secretary. Persons were appointed to draft a constitution and bylaws. These were adopted on the 9th of June 1853.The word “Horse” was later dropped from the name of the organization. The organization was disbanded on November 30th 1942.
