Slavery and Servitude: A Look in the Archives (Virtual)

June 27 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm

About this talk:

Located along the Mason-Dixon line, Chester County was simultaneously a place of freedom for those escaping southern slavery, and a site of enslavement for others. To commemorate Juneteenth, the Chester County Archives will highlight records that trace this history of slavery in the County, ranging from taxes to wills, to records that focus specifically on enslavement. Join our Archivists at 12pm on June 27th to learn more about these historic records.
