Cecilia Beaux: A Modern Painter in the Gilded Age (Virtual Lecture)

Celebrate Women’s History month with this virtual lecture from CCHC!  Guest speaker Alice A. Carter returns to the CCHC virtual forum to share the story of Philadelphia artist, Cecilia Beaux, one of America’s most successful artists at the turn of the 20th century.  After making a name for herself internationally, Beaux went on to become the first woman to teach at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts.  Follow the registration link to read more.

About the Speaker: Alice A. Carter is a writer, artist, and Professor Emeritus at San Jose State University. She previously presented The Red Rose Girls: An Uncommon Story of Art and Love through the CCHC Speaker’s Series.

Presentation is via Zoom.  We will record the lecture and send the link to registrants the day after the presentation.  The link will be available for 7 days after the live presentation.
