Repositiory: Chester County Historical Society
Alfred Rudolph Justice (b. 1857) was a genealogist in the late nineteenth to early twentieth century from Philadelphia. He wrote a number of books on family genealogies that include Wilson and Allied Families, Ancestry of Jeremy Clarke of Rhode Island and Dungan genealogy, and Descendants of Robert Taylor, one of the colonizers and early settlers of Pennsylvania under William Penn, with special reference to the descendants of his son Isaac, and his daughters, Rachel Livesey and Mary Lewis. He was a contemporary of Gilbert Cope.
The collection covers family genealogies throughout the Philadelphia Region and the East Coast. The records vary greatly from family to family, but some genealogies include court records, land records, letters, wills, deeds, and marriage licenses. Additionally, many of the families contain genealogical trees.
The collection is arranged alphabetically by folder and family name.
For more genealogical collections, please visit the Genealogy page in the Finding Aid by Category in the Archive Collection Guides. Genealogical collections include Thomas Darlington, George Norman Highley, and Gilbert Cope.
